Montessori classrooms

We are so happy with the Montessori school and Montessori philosophy. This is Mia’s first year in any sort of formal school and we are so pleased and privileged to have this as a choice.

Last week, parents were invited to participate in an event called “The Montessori Journey”. On the first night, the parents and teachers were split into small groups and we went to one class in each level: Toddler (1.5-3 years old), Primary (3-6 years), Junior Elementary (6-9 years), and Senior Elementary (9-12 years). It was a “silent journey” so we all had the chance to observe and think about the materials on our own. I snapped a few photos to share with you (see below) and so I can remember these beautiful spaces that are so small-person friendly. The second day, we went through the same classes and got to “do lessons” and ask for lessons from the teachers. It was simply amazing.

Of course, there are many great schools and school philosophies. But for now, I am thrilled with our Montessori school.
