Hard to believe that Mia is already two years old! She is an amazing, delightful, kind little girl and we are more than thrilled to be her parents. I am pretty sure that we have learned more from her than she has from us…and we continue to learn and grow as a family and as individuals every day.
We’ve been busy with Birthday plans, preparations, and festivities plus harvesting and preparing for cold weather. We had our first freeze on Friday night (September 27th), though we did have a mild frost on the morning of September 23rd (perhaps the cosmos just wanted to clarify that the Equinox is indeed the official end of summer?). I am always surprised by how slowly summer reveals itself and how rapidly winter drops in. We will have a bit more warm weather (no more freezes expected for the next week) this year but summer has definitely gone. It was good to see you, Summer! We look forward to next year!

Some concepts, like seasons, are instantaneously clear and easy to accept. Others are met with a bit of resistance, even if they try to introduce themselves slowly. The idea that this darling girl is already TWO is a mix of blatantly obvious and clear-yet-wanting-to-resist: Just a moment of interaction with her and there is no doubt how grown up she is…but talk to her parents (or any parents) and you’ll hear how it was not long ago that she (we) began this journey. I am privileged to be on this journey with her (and with her Papa!). I’ll try not to resist and, instead, just savor every moment.
