Dresses, shoes and veggies

Here are some of the latest happenings on our home front…

Have I already mentioned that Mia has discovered the concept of “mine”?  Pretty much everything is MINE!  “I show you, Mama/Papa!”

And, oh my, the dresses!  She doesn’t want to wear ANYTHING but dresses.  She has her favorites and wants to wear those every day.  In fact, you might think some of these photos were taken on the same day….but, no, if we magically manage to keep one dress relatively clean, she wears it again and again…until we can stash it away in the laundry basket.

Shoes are the latest and greatest thing.  We just got a double load of hand-me-downs (yeah!) from twins.  That means two pairs of all the shoes!  They are too big but why not wear them all over?  And walking around in too-big-shoes is actually is a great exercise in dexterity.  After doing that, walking in shoes that fit is much easier!

Our garden is growing well and loving all of the recent rain.   Mia likes to help with the harvest, which thus far includes kale, basil and squash.  The harvest basket is MINE, of course. And she likes to look at the flowers (and exercises great restraint to keep from picking them!) and point out the tomatoes and peppers and other growing things (“I show you!”).

Besides garden flowers, she loves looking at all the pictures in our Rocky Mountain Flower Guide.  Perhaps she is studying up for our next hike?  Achillea millefolium (yarrow), and Shooting Star (primrose family), and Elephant Head (figwort family) are some of her favorites.

That’s about it for now.  Hope you’re  all happy with your happenings!
