Carnivorous

Mia is growing fast.  Her top right tooth is coming in; her upper gums have been swollen for a while now and this tooth was first visible on Tuesday this week.

August 23rd — Mia with her new favorite toy that Papa picked out at Baby Bear in Albuquerque.

She had her first taste of lamb last Saturday.

Initially apprehensive, as with the introduction of most foods.

Getting down to business.

She was pretty pleased with this meal.

She held on to this for at least 20 minutes, and never once let it leave her hands. The bone was pretty clean by the time she was done.

Where did that lamb come from? As you might guess, it is the highest quality lamb we could find.  We recently joined Parker Pastures’ Mixed Meats CSA, which provides us with ‘better than organic’ meat from free range, pastured, humanely treated animals that are raised in a way that actually improves the environment.  Check out this webpage to learn more about the specific CSA we joined and the concept in general: http://parkerlandmanagement.com/mixed-meat-csa/

I don’t know much, but I do know that you are what you eat, and that your every day purchasing choices are more powerful than anything you will do on Election Day.  Find out where your food comes from and how it affects your health, the community marketplace and the world.
