Today we are 4 weeks away from our October 1st due date! So, Bean could decide to be born just about any time now! Things are going marvelously well for us in general, and for my pregnancy and the Bean.
One noticeable difference is how spacey I have been the past few days. Last night, we were about to walk out the door to go to a movie (Green Fire at the Rio Grande Nature Center!), when we realized I had the date wrong: it wasn’t yesterday, it is scheduled for one week from yesterday.
Then, this morning at the Grower’s Market, I was telling everyone that asked that I have 4 months to go. Yes, I am easily big enough that it is safe for people to ask “how much longer?”…and you should see their surprised looks when I said, “About 4 months”. Aaron was there to set the record straight, but it was stuck in my head and I gave that response several times.
After the Market, we hurried home (hurried for a Saturday) and got ready to go to a birthday party for our friends’ daughter’s 1st birthday. We drove over to their house and no one was there. So I pull out my trusty phone, open up the invitation, and — what do you know? — I had the date wrong. The party is tomorrow…NOT today.
Naturally, I am blaming this spacey-ness on pregnancy brain.
Instead of the party, we did a little shopping and went to lunch at the Range, where I ate an impressive amount of food: fried green chili for an appetizer, papas con chorizo with scrambled eggs, and french toast for dessert. Yum. I still feel full.
