We drove up to the east side of the Sandias for an afternoon hike today.  The Crest Trail is perfect this time of year because it is so much cooler up there (10,000 feet above sea level vs. 5,000 ft at the foothills trails on the west side), and it is relatively flat which is nice for this pregnant lady.

Love having these mountains so close to us (25 minute drive).  We were talking about and looking forward to many hikes with the Little Bean in our not-so-distant future!
