Eating for two

We like to eat.  It has to be real food and it has to be good.  So, we’re very selective about restaurants and we do a lot of cooking.  Now that I am eating as much as I do, we’re cooking even more. For some reason, I was compelled to take and share these photos with you.

Saturday was a cooking day.  Here is what we made:

Salsa, a staple in our kitchen

Components of chocolate torte for Easter Sunday dessert

Banana Nut Bread

We also made a big pot of beans on Saturday, because that is another staple that we try to always have on hand, either in the fridge or in the freezer.  And homemade beans are so much better than canned beans.  But beans make for boring photographs.

Wontons, on the other hand, are lovely.  We made a fantastic wonton soup the other day.

And this is what we made tonight: red bean and rice soup. Yum!

All the books say things like, “you should eat even when you’re not hungry”.  Seems like that might be hard to do, but I haven’t had that problem yet because I am ALWAYS hungry!  Good thing we love to cook.
